Islamist terrorists are suspected to have carried out the murder of two young Scandinavian women trekking in southern Morocco, one of whom was beheaded, a source close to the probe said.

One man has been arrested following the discovery on Monday (UK time) of the bodies of 24-year-old Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, from Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway.

Authorities confirmed the lone suspect arrested in the killing of the tourists in Morocco's Atlas Mountains is connected to a terrorist group, and three other suspects are on the run.

State television 2M reported on its website that authorities consider the two women's slayings a terrorist act. Local media reported that the suspects had links to the Islamic State group.

The women, who were from Denmark and Norway, were discovered stabbed in the neck Monday by other tourists, who alerted police, according to national media. Hiking in the area was temporarily suspended.

A source told AFP that one of the women had been beheaded.

The killings have shocked Morocco, a popular tourist destination where such attacks on foreigners are extremely rare.

The Rabat public prosecutor's office said in a statement Wednesday that the only captured suspect has affiliations to a terrorist group, without naming the group.

The suspect was arrested in Marrakech on Tuesday. Three other suspects have been identified and but are still on the run, a security official told The Associated Press. The official was not authorised to be publicly named.

The remote mountainous region where the women were found dead is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the village of Imlil often the starting point for treks to Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak.

Broadcaster 2M released photos and videos Wednesday of forensic investigators and others working around the women's brightly colored tent on a rocky hillside. The broadcaster said the tent held food and belongings for three people, including an ID card.

Moroccan media outlets reported that investigators have video surveillance footage showing three suspects putting up a tent near the victims' tent and leaving the area after the slaying.

Authorities in Denmark and Norway warned their citizens from hiking without local guides in Morocco after the killing. Danish police officials said Wednesday they sent an officer to Morocco to assist in the investigation.

FOUR British girls and their teacher were sexually assaulted at gunpoint on a school trip to Ghana.

The terrified victims were attacked in their hostel-style accommodation by a man with a rifle while on a volunteering trip to the West African country.

It is believed a Ghanaian security guard was shot and seriously injured after trying to stop the sickening attack on Saturday night.

The pupils, aged 16 and 17, flew to Ghana on the trip that was meant to give them the opportunity to experience life in a developing country.

The girls and their teacher, who cannot be named, were understood to be recovering from their traumatic ordeal in a British hospital on Sunday night.

They landed back in the UK in the early hours of Sunday morning.

They were part of a larger group of ten schoolchildren who paid 1,200 each for the trip.

The school, which also cannot be named, partners a West African volunteering charity that supports disadvantaged Ghanaian children.

Pupils stayed in guesthouses within a secure walled compound and gardens a few minutes walk from a local beach. The dormitory-style rooms house up to six guests at a time.

A Ghanaian caretaker and private security team also live on the site in a separate staff block.

DEPTFORD, N.J. -- A day at the mall turned violent for one group of teenagers in New Jersey after they say they were attacked by some adults outside of the Deptford Mall.

Around a kitchen table Monday, three teens described what they say was several minutes of an unprovoked assault Friday night.

"The older woman hit me, like with a straight open palm," said Alexandria DeRusso. "Like smack right across the face."

Tatum Bohanon said right after the woman hit Allie, she came over and smacked her as well.

The incident in a mall parking spot began minutes before. Taylor McFadden was at the wheel of her car, her friends, Tatum and Allie, were outside smoking cigarettes.

"I noticed the car in my rear view mirror waiting for my spot. I had the passenger window down so I said to Allie let them know I am not coming out yet so they don't have to wait," said McFadden.

The other car parked a few spots away, but apparently the two women who got out were angry. First, there were words exchanged then fists. Taylor called 911 and then got out of the car to help Allie.

"I was like 'Stop! Get off of her,' and I told the cops to hurry up," said Taylor. "Someone grabbed my face and pushed my face back and I got hit on right side of my face."

Taylor said she was trying to protect herself when the other woman kicked her full force in the face.

All three teens have been diagnosed with concussions. Red marks and early bruising have dissipated.

The girls said their assailants were African American, and most troubling for Taylor, who is bi-racial, is what one of the attackers repeatedly said during the attack.

Taylor said the woman was saying, "You dumb white bitches are way too comfortable. You white bitches are just too comfortable."

Taylor said, "I looked at her and was like 'Ma'am, I'm not even white.'"

The girls said a number of bystanders came to their aid.

The two women fled, but not before Taylor was able to get a partial license plate number.

Universities are setting targets to recruit more white male students after low numbers meant they are now classed a minority group.

Essex and Aston Universities have become Britains first non-elite institutions to write the target into their official recruitment plans, putting white males on a par with Black students and women engineers.

White British students are in a minority at roughly one in ten institutions, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.

Meanwhile on certain courses such as pharmacy, business and some science degrees, more than seven in 10 students is from an ethnic minority.

In 2016-17, 27 per cent of the UK undergraduate intake were white males, down from 30 per cent in 2007-08.

Oxford University has previously announced a drive to attract more of the group.

Nick Hillman, director of the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI), which has released a report on the plight of young men in education, told the Mail on Sunday: 'When putting together our report, we were shocked to find so few higher education institutions had these sorts of targets.

The problem is so evident and we've continued to go backwards.

"Some people oppose this whole agenda - we were told we were wrong to look at gender and should care only about class.

The Institutes report calls for more foundation year courses preparing students for studying a degree as a means of encouraging more young men to apply.

Official figures also point to a growing gender gap in British universities, with 23 out of 149 higher education institutions having more female than male students.

Previous research has indicated that university staff have a mixed reaction to schemes aimed specifically at white boys in case it leads to accusations of racism.

A study led by Kings College London said: We found that people were quite uncomfortable with the idea of running a targeted activity with this group, in a way that we've not encountered, for example, targeting young black African men.

We had quite a lot of people saying.

Essex and Astons initiatives follows a warning by the Office for Students, which regulates universities, in September, that institutions could be punished unless they give a higher proportion of top degrees to black students.

TIJUANA, Mexico Hookerfucker1, as hes known on Reddit, is like a lot of the men who come from the US to Tijuana looking for sex. Single and in his early thirties, he first went to the citys red-light district four years ago because, he said, I wasnt getting laid in the US.

I was thirsty for sex, and knew TJ had a reputation for sex tourism, he told BuzzFeed News in an email exchange.

On Reddit, Hookerfucker1 has become something of an evangelist for Tijuanas sex industry, dispensing tips to newbies and veterans on everything from where to park on the US side of the border to negotiating at the bars and strip clubs on Calle Coahuila, the sex workers main drag. There are reasons men prefer sex workers in Tijuana to those in the US, said Hookerfucker1, a tech worker from San Diego who provided BuzzFeed News with a picture of a VIP membership card from the Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club, one of Tijuanas most famous brothels. Because sex work is legal in Mexico, its simple to set up a meeting. You can go to a strip club, call an escort agency, or hit up a massage parlor. It's an easy, prepackaged sex destination, he said. The women are the type you can invite to a nightclub or restaurant and no one would suspect shes a hooker.

And lately, Hookerfucker1 said something else has factored into Mexicos appeal: the #MeToo movement, which has empowered many women in the US to speak up about abuse and misconduct. It's not safe to hit on women in the US anymore, Hookerfucker1 wrote, but in Tijuanas Zona Norte, its definitely different. Slapping a strippers ass is not only ok, but encouraged! In the US you'd get kicked out of the club, prosecuted for harassment, fired from your job, and probably listed as a sex offender.

We are frustrated with the system that paints everything a man does as harassment.
Not so just a short drive south, where neither #MeToo nor the decades of struggle that laid its foundation in the United States have taken root, and where entire families of women toil in a sex industry aimed at clients from the US. Its one of the harsh realities of #MeToo that border cities provide an escape hatch for some of the very men the movement sought to enlighten about the treatment of women. The men may be hearing the message, but its easier to ignore it down here.

It's just too risky to deal with American women in a system that's increasingly becoming hostile towards men who only want intimacy with a woman, Hookerfucker1 said. I keep going back because TJ is a literal fantasy land for males. Where else can you pick and choose from 100s of beautiful girls to have sex with?

Sex workers are feeling the effects of the #MeToo backlash from angry American men as the workers encounter US customers who are bitter that their gender no longer gives them unchallenged dominion over women back home.

Witnesses said there were 'dozens' of victims including a police officer after the shooter stormed in armed with guns and smoke grenades.

A Ventura County Sheriff's Office official said approximately 30 shots had been fired inside the building.

It's thought that a man opened fire at the bar with a semi-automatic gun at about 11.20pm.

A witness told ABC7: I was at the front door talking to my stepdad. I heard these big pops.

'There were three or four and I hit the ground. The security guard was dead and the man had a handgun.

'He threw in smoke bombs and he kept firing. People threw chairs out of the windows to try to get away.

'The gunman had glasses and a black jacket. He had a big hand gun.

Another witness said: 'This maniac came in. Threw in smoke to confuse people and opened fire on the dancefloor. Hes taken many young lives.
